i’ve been interning at fast ashley’s, a sister company of impact digital and industrial color, for a few weeks now. honestly, it couldn’t get any better. if you ever need to book a studio in brooklyn, this is the place to be!

john mann.

one of my old photography teachers at florida state, john mann, is in an upcoming show at the jen bekman gallery here in new york. it opens on january 30th, and will be on view until february 15th. john is a cool guy, and he knows a hell of a lot about concept, form, process, and photographic history. take a peek at more of his work here.

victor boullet & guillermo srodek-hart.

i like this photo, and i’m particularly fascinated by the lack of detail surrounding boullet’s photographic series featuring kate. what happened to this girl? although i’m craving an explanation, or an artist’s statement of some kind, i’m intrigued by victor’s work. it’s a little thrown together at times, but some of the photographs are enchantingly sophisticated and produce an incredibly peculiar response. while you’re navigating around his page, also take a look at the oblivion series.

noah kalina.

noah is the photographer that took pictures of himself for six years, and posted it all on youtube. somehow it went viral.. and 11 million views later, a lot of people knew his name. the six year thing is pretty impressive, although a little OCD, and his photography isn’t bad too bad either. here’s a link to his work so you can check it out.

william eggleston – democratic camera.

One of the most influential photographers of the last half-century, William Eggleston has defined the history of color photography. This exhibition is the artist’s first retrospective in the United States and includes both his color and black-and-white photographs as well as Stranded in Canton, the artist’s video work from the early 1970s. Images and video on view November 7, 2008 – January 25, 2009 at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
